Corus is to invest £185 million into the No 4 Blast Furnace at Port Talbot steelworks.

Auto components company Linamar has announced it will close its Swansea plant by the end of 2010 with the loss of 200 jobs. The company said the plant - which once employed more than 1,000 people - is no longer viable. Linamar has stated it will transfer the work of the Swansea site to different plants overseas.
