Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs has sent a note to employees saying he is taking a medical leave of absence so he can focus on his health. Jobs has been plagued with ill-health over the past few years. The leave marks the second time in recent years that Jobs has been forced to step back from his role at Apple.

An AFP report said that work at the facility in Chennai, southern India, was halted on July 26 and is expected to resume in about a week.
